Re: Surprised by inexpensive holster

Sorry folks - been away for a few days.

I'll post some pics of the holster with my EDC shortly.

Oh - it does have belt slots, but honestly it stays put pretty doggone well with the clip IWB.

So far, so good. My only beef is that the clip is so tight it's hard to get in my waistband - pretty much ...

Surprised by inexpensive holster

Just wanted to mention this in case anyone is curious...

I picked up an inexpensive holster at the gun show in Austin last week for $20. Didn't think much of it, until I found it in the bag I took that day and decided to see how it fit and rode.

I'm not a big fan of "universal" anything, but it ...

Re: Texas Gun Show in S. Austin and Changing Times

Yeah, I'll be checking out the gun show up in Belton soon, but like I said, I'll keep supporting the S. Austin gun show.

After teaching self defense classes (mostly to women) for over a decade, and spending hours and hours studying statistics, reading firsthand accounts of assaults and other violent crimes, hearing firsthand accounts of assaults from students , and studying some pretty darned disturbing studies done ...

Re: Texas Gun Show in S. Austin and Changing Times

Maybe it was just the time of year then. In my former business (service/retail), July was traditionally our slowest month for new business.

I'll keep hitting this gun show and supporting it, regardless... I want to see it stick around so we have a good show to attend here in Austin.

By the way ...

Texas Gun Show in S. Austin and Changing Times

Went to the "Texas Gun Show" in S. Austin yesterday to look around. Event was small, and not too busy. I was talking to a vendor and we were recalling the huge gun shows at the location on 290 near IH-35 just a decade or so ago (it now houses a technical school). Kind of funny, the guy was ...

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco

"agonal respirations"
"ACLS"

Sounds like EMS off duty. Would make for a heck of a good witness for the plaintiff (or prosecution?) in court.

Re: my comment in an earlier post about video muddying the waters...

If you've followed the Nathaniel Sanders case here in Austin at all, it's a perfect ...

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco

It'll be many months or even years before facts come out in this case.

Sure, the witness reports differ, but they always do in cases like this. Video, if it exists, may corroborate one or another witness account, or muddy the waters further.

Cops have an extremely difficult job to do, and they don ...
