Bail for murder in Houston is around $50,000, I've heard bail bondsmen require 10% or $5,000.

A lot of people in Houston charged for murder are out on bail, including capital murder.

Too bad there is no law requiring judges to provide their homes as dwelling places, halfway houses if you will, for murderers released on bail.
