Slight Sarcasm on Safeguards Beyond Retention Holsters
In avoiding the heat, I've had a little more time than normal lately for a little writing. Maybe some folks think a little too much time.

Thanks Greybeard. I got a chuckle out of that.

Reminds me of an old Dodge truck I used to own...
The thing wouldn't start with the clutch out (engaged) or fully depressed (disengaged). You had to hold it at about 3/4 depressed to get the safety switch to allow a start. I left the keys in it most of the time. Figured most thieves didn't want a tempermental old dodge. Something to be said for knowing your weapon...

Yep, I worked for a construction outfit back in the 70s that had a Dodge pickup like that. They told me how to get it to crank and I still struggled with it.
Sadly, in CHL testing over the years, I lost track of how many people I've had to penalize 5 points first rattle out of the box over "safety" switches. From low ready position, unable to get off first shot in 2 seconds. Scary, actually.
