Just over a month ago I was doing some preliminary ammo testing with my new Colt LE901-16S at 100 yards. The rifle started having feed issues, so it is currently back at Colt for repair.
One ammo did show promise. A 3-round group does not completely tell the tale, but this one got my attention:
Which .308 Platform?

Re: Which .308 Platform?
My POF 308 is still my never-sell rifle, and I'm not a long-range shooter. But the quick review of the new Ruger Precision Rifle in the current issue of American Rifleman has me itching to, er, get my finger on one (http://www.ruger.com/micros/rpr/). It's a bolt action, but will take a few different mags, including the PMAGs I already use for my POF. In addition to .308, it's also available in 6.5 Creedmor and .243 Winchester. Since an 800+ yard shot ain't ever gonna be on my list, I'd gravitate to the .308 just for caliber commonality and magazine interchangeability with what I already own.
Some purported design and production innovations will supposedly have this rifle's street price around $1,100, sans optic. Testers have shown the rifle to be capable of 1/2 MOA five-shot groups, and in the Creedmoor chambering capable of plinking steel at 1,600 yards. Haven't thought of buying a new production rifle for a few years, but this just could be the next new addition.
