New BBQ Holster

Post by JohnS-TX »

While the Open Carry bills were percolating around in the Legislature I started shopping around on the internet for a new classic / old school / BBQ leather holster for my 1911.

I found a guy (Wyatt Burp ) on the west coast that makes exactly the style I was looking for. We traded several emails firming up the specifications.

After Governor Abbott signed the Open Carry bill I gave Matt the green light to start the build. It didn’t take him long to finish it up. It is a real beauty and solidly crafted.

Recently I took the holster / 1911 combo on an Open Carry trip through Louisiana & Mississippi.

Just can’t wait til January 1 so I can start open carrying around here.
