CHL follow up question

Post by meddafuxa »

I turned in all my info after my finger prints about a week ago. Am I supposed to get a confirmation they got it? I guess things are slow for labor day and they just got it. I tried to login and it won't let me view anything. Too early?

Did you mail it or upload it via RSD secure e-mail site?

I mailed my class form, bar code email and finger print form. I used snail mail. I did the application online and I did finger prints digitally.

You won't get any receipt confirmation from DPS if sent snail mail. They'd prefer you wait 30 days from application to call and check status ( I'd recommend waiting 2 more weeks, then call them once to verify they've received everything ). You won't see any change on the website ( you'll have options to change address, report lost/stolen id, etc ) when logging in until it's been approved. Some people didn't see the change online until AFTER they had received their plastic. Be patient :)

If you still have a copy of your CHL-100 I would suggest scanning it into a PDF file & uploading it onto the DPS' website (look for the 'Contact Us' link, then select 'Concealed Handgun' & 'Submit Supporting Documents' from the drop down menus). The rest should be easy from there, just make sure you hit the 'Upload' button & your CHL-100 is listed in green at the bottom before you hit the submit button.

You will receive a generic, automatic email reply from the DPS so you know it was received. By doing it this way you ensure that it is received & associated with your application immediately, & the turn around time recently has been only a couple - three weeks to receive it in the mail.

Don't worry about double tapping by having already mailed it; it won't screw anything up.
