Mom wanted her Veteran son to take her to a Cardinals game. Robbed after the game walking to car. Gave up their valuables but shot by a black assailant anyway. Apparently this is not the first time as apparently this has become a pattern in St. Louis. St. Louis has had record murders this year after Furgeson's publicized police issues being investigated by the Justice Department.

And you can’t carry a gun to protect yourself because you can’t take it in the stadium.

This is why the carry laws are so ridiculous. Who knows what might have happened if they had been armed? But that choice was taken away from them, and now he's paralyzed.

Which is why the right to carry is so important. Yet politicians, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that we should disarm for sporting events because...well...because....we might actually use that weapon for....something.....or whatever. It's ignorant. If we can be trusted to carry, we should be allowed to carry anywhere that a criminal might carry.

I don't think that's been a very nice town for a long time. True story here. When I was a young airman just starting out in my military career, I decided to take the bus once on leave to save money. I had a layover in St. Louis at the bus terminal. I was approached by a guy in a trench coat. Before I knew it, he had whipped open the trench coat and proceeded to show me his wares. Yep, inside the trench coat was an assortment of jewelry and watches, hanging on each side, just like in some movie. He said, "young man would you like to buy a nice watch". I showed him my cheap Casio and said "no thanks". He said he'd let me have another real cheap, but I once again declined the offer, not knowing the origin of said watches. He seemed a little irritated, but there were some soldiers in uniform a couple of benches down, so he walked off. This incident took place right out in the open, the security guard didn't even look over once.

There are many locations in any city that aren't so good, and besides bus stations, the areas around ball parks are often high on that list. I know the guy was just trying to have a nice time out with his mom, and he shouldn't have had to suffer this way. However, sometimes it's just not worth it to even go in the first place. Disgusting that we must give up certain areas to criminals, but if you aren't prepared, or are not allowed under threat of legal penalty to be prepared for violence, what other choice do you have?
