DUI charge in another state

Post by Soap »

My girlfriend has a dui charge in another state. We just moved here recently. This is the only mark on her record. If she were to want a CHL here what are her options?

Welcome to the forum. You are not clear on your description. Does she have a current charge against her or was it in the past?
If the charge is current, she can not get her CHL now.

There is a difference between a charge and a conviction. She will need to wait 5 years after the conviction.

If there is a pending charge, then you can't get a CHL either until it is dismissed or wait 5 years after the conviction.

I wasn't clear sorry. She has a conviction. I think it was 5 years back home, and you say it's the same here? Thanks guys.
