Detroit Pastor Shoots / Kills Attacker During Service

Post by Dad24GreatKids »

Man enters church service and attacks pastor with a brick. Pastor shoots & kills the attacker. Per the story there could be more to the story than just random violence.

Quote from the article... ,but not part of the original story.

“That incident alerted us that our security was not right,” Simmons said. “But how do you make a place that’s open to the public completely secure? You can’t.”

A good start is don't allow it to become a "Gun Free Zone"!

Something stinks in this story. I have no problem with pastors carrying. I have friends who pastor who carry in church. I carry in church. I hope my pastor carries in church, although I have no idea if he does or not. I hope that this is purely a case of a crazy man not well anchored to reality, but where there's smoke there is often fire, and if Detroit police think that there is actually enough indication to investigate the possibility of a love-triangle complication, that stinks. It doesn't justify the dead man's assault, but it complicates the defense for the pastor involved.

This is what passes for reporting these days. (Issue highlighted.)
The pastor remains in police custody.

The pastor has not been arrested and is cooperating with authorities, Officer Jennifer Moreno said Monday.

“He was never in custody,” Moreno said Monday. “He was just brought downtown (on Sunday) for questioning regarding the incident. He stayed a couple hours, cooperated fully, and went home.”
If he was never in custody, then why do you report that he was? Sheesh. Talk about internal inconsistencies....
