Gun Store Robbery in Lubbock.

Post by G.A. Heath »

I heard that Fred's Gun Emporium in Lubbock was robbed and at least one employee was wounded in the resulting shoot out. If this you think you may have heard of this gun store before then you may be right. IIRC A few years ago a CHL class here turned into a fight and the instructor killed another employee with a knife in self defense. Now if memory serves this store had a sign "No loaded firearms, no exceptions" posted last time I was there. To be honest I have never been in this store of my own free will, it's always been a friend insisting we go there that has caused me to go in.

How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Instructor killed another employee with a knife in self defense?...This is shocking and appalling. Wonder what was up with that.

The robbery: brazen and in broad daylight--a gun store even. So much for the oft-repeated mantra "You never hear about robberies in gun shops and at gun shows."

Hope they catch the perps.

I was in there once, looking at a sig p226 with a friend who wanted me to let him know if it was a good deal while an employee was educating us on proper equipment and carry conditions. I clearly remember the "You should only concealed carry a Glock midsize pistol and you should always have an empty chamber because there is no other safety..." talk we got.

That's gun SHOWS not gun stores. Gun stores get robbed occasionally. Especially the no guns allowed, only the owner can carry kind.

That is the felony known as burglary. NOT Robbery.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

I don't know. Some of the prices I've seen at gun shows look like robbery to me. :thumbs2:

Since you would be face to face with the other person involved, if they relieved you of anything of value illegally, that would be robbery, which used to be a 3rd degree felony, if memory serves, it has been 36+ years.

In Texas if they are armed and you are aware of it or they claim to be armed, whether or not you see a weapon, that is Aggravated Robbery, which used to be a 2nd degree felony.
