To the MSM a PCP air rifle is a "sniper rifle"

And Fox is nearly as pathetic as the rest of them in their studied ignorance.
Take a moment to watch the video under that breathless headline "Female sharpshooter scares off crooks with sniper rifle". (That is a separate H/T to David, as well.)

Now how does that title go with that content? It is a wonderment, isn't it? The title screams PSH, but the content is pretty golden, and even the talking heads (I know nothing else about "Fox & Friends") are pretty transparently into Ms. Williams.

It is counter narrative though...a Black woman using a gun in self-defense...so at least Fox deserves credit for that.

Good Lord, don't knock it!!!

If the general public thinks she scared them off with a real rifle, then we can score one for the good guys.

Like the Rifleman Savant....I also want one of them air guns....and have been trying to decide which one to get. The Benjamin Marauder is high on my list. Still, pretty pathetic someone in the "news" business is either untruthful or ignorant and won't make the effort to understand what they're reporting. I do agree it's good for self-defense events to be reported, even when they get the details wrong.

I picked up a Marauder in .22 several months back and really enjoy it . That said, I understand that the .25s use a higher quality (and more consistently accurate) Green Mountain barrel, so I'd go with .25 if doing it again. This gun sure is good pest/varmint medicine, though, and the sound of the pellet striking the target is louder than the firing report.

I was initially looking at the .357 Bullpup but I've gradually come around to thinking the .25 is probably the best choice for me, and one of the selling points is how quiet it is claimed to be. Good to hear someone on the board validating that.
