I did a search and didn't see this anywhere, so I thought I would ask.
I know that under a lot of CHL rules parking lots are not "premises" and therefore you can carry onto a parking lot of a school, polling place, racetrack, etc. That's clear.
BUT...30.06 says that it is is a violation to carry onto the "property" of another which is posted. What if an apartment complex, mall, etc. had 30.06 signs at the entry to the parking lots? It's their private property, so it seems that they can keep CHL's out if they post proper signs, according to the way the law is worded.
Not saying that I like it, but that's how I read it. Someone please educate me.
Thanks in advance.

yep, you are correct. they can indeed keep you from having your concealed weapon in the parking lot
Re: Parking Lots
They can't keep you from having it IN YOUR CAR in the parking lot by posting 30.06.JP171 wrote:yep, you are correct. they can indeed keep you from having your concealed weapon in the parking lot

Re: Parking Lots
true Scott, if you reference the MPA they may not be able to do so, no more than they can keep you from having it in an RV or I believe tent, but if you get out of your car and are carrying and the lot is posted you are wrong

Re: Parking Lots
Good point about the MPA. Still have to keep it in your car though.
