McKinney Goodwill now 30-06
Must have happened in the last few weeks. McKinney Goodwill now has a pretty cheesy display of 30-06 on the doors entering and exiting(?) the building. It is printed out in 1 inch letters, English and Spanish, on about 9 sheets of paper taped to the window. Very "high class." They still have their non compliant version posted as well. I spoke to the young lady behind the counter, who was very understanding of the fact that all it does is create a gun free zone, and that criminals will not obey the law. But obviously I need to contact a district or regional office. Has anyone had any luck contacting them or even getting a response?

I no longer give to Goodwill, after finding out the salary the head of this "charity" gets. It is the Salvation Army for me.

Goodwill's Charity Racket: CEOs Earn Top-Dollar, Workers Paid Less Than Minimum Wage
However....the Salvation Army is no saint either as the big charity watch organizations don't evaluate them because Salvation Army is exempt under Internal Revenue Code from filing the Form 990, and they have refused to provide an accounting of their financials. It has been disclosed that some Salvation Army seniors also draw large salaries, and prior CNN reports indicated that they believe that they spend 18% on overhead (http://money.cnn.com/2013/05/24/pf/donations-charities/). The organizations that track all this indicate that a charity that spends 10% or less on overhead is a good one to donate to.An American multi-national corporation, which accepts millions of dollars in government funds, pays its top executives more than half a million dollars per year in total compensation, while simultaneously paying some of its employees less than the federal minimum wage.
Some employees earn just 22 cents per hour.
And the entire racket is perfectly legal thanks to a Depression-era loophole in federal labor law. Is now a good time to mention that this corporation also doesn't pay any taxes?
"Goodwill Industries is one of the most well-known charitable organizations in the United States, but most members of the general public are unaware that Goodwill exploits people with disabilities," said Dr. Marc Maurer, President of the National Federation of the Blind, which has organized a nationwide protest of offending Goodwill organizations. "We are conducting informational protests to make the public aware of this practice that, although sadly still legal, is unfair, discriminatory, and immoral."

My charity dollars don't go to organizations.
I don't trust them.
My charity dollars go to help individual family members, friends and neighbors.

Sounds like a rogue store manager.
But i don't donate to them anyway. They are too picky about what they accept.

Goodwill is not a charity at all, it does not give anything to charity. Try your local churches. Do not give them anything. It's just a really catchy name, and it has worked.
