City of Dallas Publishes Youtube Video on Open Carry
Not a bad video, and surprisingly neutral. One bad piece of information in the video, but the rest seems correct.

Yeah, not sure if it was the reference to calling 911 if they are carrying in a suspicious manner, as a violation of HB 910 (that language is of course not in there). Aside from that, the dude walking with the gun in his hand was clearly suspicious as his gig line was w-a-y off (and a bonus imaginary prize to the first ex-military that knows what that is).

Funny stuff, my wife looked at me when I said my belt was not in alignment with the "gig line" and when I explained she looked annoyed...

I'm not ex-military and I know what a gig line is do I get a double bonus imaginary prize?
When your shirt edge, belt edge and pants zipper edge line up correctly.

Yeah, that is funny! At least you're ex-Army or she might have asked why you were standing in line for the gig (gig being that little bitty thing that the CO sails around in when he/she is coming or going from the ship while at sea).Abraham wrote:Funny stuff, my wife looked at me when I said my belt was not in alignment with the "gig line" and when I explained she looked annoyed...

LOL, and another winner! So okay, now I just have to ask for the audience at home how you happen to know that term?

Funny thing, I learned what a gig line is from a Pauley Shore movie, "In The Army Now".

I posted they have the prohibited places wrong. Shortly together they deleted my comment and disabled the comments.
Seems like they want the misinformation out there.

Comments still seem to be there when I lookmojo84 wrote:I posted they have the prohibited places wrong. Shortly together they deleted my comment and disabled the comments.

Edit: I agree the comment about prohibited places is misleading - I went back and re-listened based on their comment, and they do throw in at the end in regards to the applicable penal code or some such - so its not wrong, just misrepresented IMO.

They are playing word games and trying to give the impression all of the places are statutorily off-limitsm according to the penal code. She didn't say they can be off-limits of signage according to 30.06 and 30.07 was properly posted.

Re: City of Dallas Publishes Youtube Video on Open Carry
interesting and it made me think, does my XD holster qualify for open carry, it does retain the firearm but does not have a loop over to secure the top of the slide.
I did read "retention" but now i am not so sure

Re: City of Dallas Publishes Youtube Video on Open Carry
They just said penal code and picked places that many think are still statutorily off limits without signs. To me it is similar to when cities or counties put up no gun or 30.06 signs even though they were not enforceable.
