Am I eligible?
I could use some advices, folks. I have some charges in my past that Im concerned might keep me from getting my CHL. Im 23 now, but when I was 15 I was charged with a class A misdemeanor, burglary of a motor vehicle. Do charges like this need to be included with my application? It was deferred and the judge told me if I didnt get into anymore trouble it would go away when I turned 18. Then I had 2 public intoxication charges within a year and a half, one when I was 20 and again at 21. Both are class C and the rules for eligibility state that only charges class B and higher constitute a chemically dependent person. Anyone have some experience with similar charges? As a side note, I was considering sending my college transcripts with my application, since Im newly graduated. I made the deans list a bunch and graduated Cum Laude. Think theyll care?

Questions like this are best addressed to DPS. They are the ones who will make the determination based on the law. We can give you opinions, but that's all they are. You have to decide if you're willing to risk spending the non-refundable charge to find out. If it were me I would give them a call and ask them for advice. You definitely want to include your entire record if you apply. Leaving something out may look like you're trying to hide it, and they will discover that. At a minimum it will lengthen the time it takes to be approved.

Include all arrests on your application, and also send in the paperwork stating the final disposition. Even if it was deferred, even if you were a juvenile.
From what you have disclosed here, you are not be disqualified.
And DPS does not care about your college transcripts.
