Get right to it.
I'm from Georgia and hold a GA CCW permit. It will be expiring in February. I am only here in Texas till June 2016. I would prefer not going several months without the proper documents to protect my loved ones and myself.
This gets to my question. Can I obtain a Texas CHL without a Texas ID. I have a GA DL and CCW permit, however I have misplaced my SS card and therefore cant get a Texas ID or DL until I get it replaced.
I have several other supporting documents such as birth certificate, DD214, VA ID, expired Military ID.
Appreciate the help.
Thanks
Georgia Native, Texas resident. Obtaining my CHL.

Welcome to the forum.
As long as you have a GA residency with a valid DL from there, then you would put that as your address on your CHL application and you would have a non-resident CHL from Texas.
