Gun Show 30.06 and 30.07 Signs

The 51% designation is based on the license holder. Unfortunately some license holders at these convention centers, fairgrounds, stadiums etc are vendors who only serve alcohol. Sometimes if it's done right where vendor serves all concessions (sodas and hot dogs etc as well as beer) they aren't 51%. Sometimes it's the sane owner/operator using two business names to limit liability or taxes or whatever reason and that puts them in the 51% category. The law really needs to look at total use/sales at the venues not just a specialized alcohol catering service.

I agree that one vendor on the entire premises should not make the entire place off limits. That's like saying that one bar (or even several) in a shopping mall makes the entire mall off limits.

The FT. Worth arena used this excuse to keep the wild Republican delegates from bringing rifles to the last state convention. Which then prompted them to carry black powder revolvers (not a firearm).

the pasadena gun show had their usual illegal 30.06 sign up dec 18. The last gun show at the george r brown convention center about a month ago had one up too.

If the license covered the entire grounds, they would not be able to have a gun show selling handguns there because of 46.02(c).roadkill wrote:Be careful of the venues. The Saxet show in Robstown at the fairgrounds posts 30.06 however the location is also a 51% location due to the concession vendors license. I've talked to TABC about the area licensed and the license covers the entire grounds.

Re: Gun Show 30.06 and 30.07 Signs
I went to the Fort Worth Original Gun Show today and yes it was posted with a 30.06 and 30.07 along with another sign about private show and no loaded guns on premises or some such.
I can't say whether I carried or not but I believe the signs to be unenforceable on government owned property. This is just my opinion and does not constitute legal advice for anyone else since I am not a lawyer nor do I pretend to be one.
The show was packed!

Went to Houston show at Brown Convention Center yesterday. No 30.06 sign, but 30.07 and a "No loaded guns, must be checked by police" sign. I assume the second sign was trying to say that you can carry concealed but not have it loaded. Sounds illegal to me.
