Nueces county appraisal district

Post by roadkill »

Looks like they're trying to skirt the law regarding LTC carry on their building.

Now this could get interesting. They have publicly stated a discriminatory (in the sense of an "equal protection" issue) policy.

It is ironic that they state their policy, and yet quote "intimidation" as a factor...yet the policy is clearly to intimidate the taxpayer into compliance with their unlawful wishes.

Does that summarize correctly?

Sounds like it's time for some popcorn...

Yeah, because a nut case that is willing to shoot people over a tax dispute is going to be stopped by a sign, and because no one without a CHL has ever done anything like that. This really has become a nation of idiots....but then all we have to do is look at the last two presidential elections to know that.

It's not just signs; they have metal detectors and security, thus actively denying LTC entry.

Is anyone planning on filing a complaint over this one?

Armed security? But someone crazy enough to throw their life away on a tax dispute isn't going to be stopped by that either. As referenced in another thread, a nut attacked his wife and son at the Tyler courthouse over a divorce dispute. So, what would a nut be likely to do if he was deterred by security at the door? Wait until people started leaving for lunch. Or, just walk in and shoot the guards first. The thing is, that nut is unlikely to be someone with a CHL.
