My Boss and co-worker, possible converts???

Post by parabelum »

...to the CHL/LTC world

So my boss and co-worker, since we happen to be good friends, already knew that I had CHL.

The other day we had our regular weekly touch base meeting and the topic of the OC bill came up, they saw it on news. So we started a dialog....

Right from the starting gate I knew that, although we are friends, they tend to be rather apprehensive about guns, different topic for different time.

1 minute into the conversation and I heard "...now EVERYONE that wants to carry a "WEAPON " will walk around packing, and you never know WHO "those people" are. :banghead:

I proceed to inform them what this bill is and isn't, what CHL/LTC actually is and isn't, and more importantly, what the requirements are in the State of Texas to obtain LTC. We even went to the https://www.texasfirearmscoalition.com
and read up on some facts (thanks Charles!), then we cruised over to the DPS site and did the same.

Needles to say, they were 100% unaware of most facts (bad propaganda job on our end), and after our 1 hour dialog, they both said that now they will consider applying as well :thumbs2:

One of many things I presented afterwards was, now that you see the facts of the 2A and LTC, as a business owner, would you rather have a licencee in your establishment, someone that you know has been vetted by the Feds/State, or Mr./Ms. question mark?

You can guess the answer. :cheers2:

Few takeaways:

1. People are by in large unknowledgable of laws and facts surrounding the 2A/LTC, nothing really new there.

2. With calm and polite demeanor, backed up by concrete facts most , but not all, are willing to listen and chew on it, i.e. their minds are not 100% made up, incidentally.

3.integrating more people into our sphere requires patience, lots of it, and, it requires a not-in-your face attitude. Moreover, it needs to be gradually introduced into the populous, in moderately titrated dosages.

None of this of course is new to us, but, I thought I'd share it anyway.
