Help with color copy of drivers license for renewal app.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a color copy of the front and back of my Texas drivers license made to send in with the renewal check list?
I have been to Staples and UPS/Kinkos and they both refuse to do it. Both operations told me that it was a $35,000 fine if they made color copies of a drivers license. I did get one location to make one, but they made it at 200% larger. HELP!

Send them the 200% larger copies.... Why not? Or... Resize them to whatever dimensions you like.
Easy to do with free software... I like IRFanView (simple) and Paint.Net (more features, still free).

I think by now tal has solved his or her problem by now seeing how his or her question was posted in July 8 of 2012 and has not been active since a day after posting the question. Seems like tal joined just to ask that question.

I just had a similar question and figured Id post it on this thread so answers to the question would be easier to find in the future by forum users.

My guess is there is some miss-interpreting or miss-understanding of the law for retail purposes, because I'm pretty sure somewhere in the penal code it's illegal to make fake drivers licences, aka physical copies - not photocopies. I don't have any specific penal law memorized, just a layman's guess.

It is not against Texas law to make copies of your driver license. Kinkos and the like refuse to copy actual size and expand it greatly-for fraud prevention purposes, but they usually will point you to a machine that you can do the photocopy yourself.
