BTW, guys and gals...My intent with my comment was not to incite or escalate a situation, but to only illustrate that if this were done, it leaves both hands free to wave to them as they pass...

If you catch my drift...

Let them be the ones to try and figure it out...The burn would be on them...

Irony is sometimes an interesting medicine for people afflicted as these appear to be...

Every time I read about Jesse Jackson marching somewhere to spew his (usually racist) nonsense for the cameras - I think about showing up myself . . . just to drive a manure spreader in front of his parade.

I saw a dude at the last Fort Worth gun show with a for sale sign. He was selling some handguns and had a Mini 14 strapped to him. He wanted too much as far as I was concerned, but I saw him later talking to some obvious illegals through an interpreter. I don't know if he sold anything to them, but if he did then he should be hanged on the front lawn. I also saw LOTS of gang banger types at the last Dallas show I went to. I even made a post about being concerned walking to my car with a newly purchased Glock and AR-15.

The point is that this stuff does happen. People that shouldn't be buying guns do buy them at gun shows. Does that mean we should have more gun control? Not as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather them buy them illegally than steal them from my house, which is what most of them do...steal them from legitimate owners.

If I ran the gun show, there wouldn't be any "undesirables" allowed in. How do I determine undesirables? Don't ask.

True, they sometimes do. They also sometimes buy them from less than reputable gun shops. Or from reputable shops via straw purchases. But the vast, vast majority of the time they buy them off of the street. There's not much that can be done about the black market.

Sorry, come again? What are "obvious illegals", and what is it that makes their illegality obvious?

I'd like to know, because I deal professionally every day with people who have poor English skills, who some would tag as "wetbacks", when the reality is that their ancestors have been born north of the Rio Grande (and south of the Red) a heckuva lot longer than yours or mine.

Dude, I've been living in Dallas for a long time. In this town, if you don't speak English, and you do speak Spanish, there's a 99% chance that you're here illegally. Some of them even speak some English.

You're right that I can't tell for sure what their status is, but I've been around long enough to know what it most likely is. If you lived here for a while then you'd think the same thing. There aren't many legal Spanish speakers in the DFW metroplex, compared to illegal ones anyway.

Remember that rally of 500,000 of them in downtown Dallas a while back?

A few of the gun bloggers are trying to organize a counter "protest" to JJ's planned event.

Well, not a protest so much as the more conservative of us don't do much prancing in the streets.

We are calling it "National Exercise Your Rights Day".

On the 28th, purchase ammunition, or a firearm, or an accessory. Take a friend shooting, take a non shooting friend shooting. Organize a picnic or a counter demonstration. Sign up for a CHL class. Support your right to keep and bear arms.

In this vein, we are also trying to get dealers to offer a discount or door prize on the 28th. The more dealers we can get involved, the easier it will be to obtain some local news coverage.

If interested, you can find out more here.

The Amendment II Democrats have scheduled a rally to counter protest the August 28th activities planned by the North Texas Brady Campaign and Rainbow PUSH.

SAVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT RALLY - August 28, 2007 in Dallas, TX
Your humble Webmaster for Amendment II Democrats is planning a Save the Second Amendment Rally to be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, 12:00 noon CDT in Dallas, Texas. We will be gathering outside the Warren United Methodist Church at 3028 Malcolm X Boulevard, where the North Texas Brady Campaign and Rainbow PUSH members are scheduled to hold their own anti-gun rally. It's time for Democrats who support the Second Amendment to take a stand against those who seek to undermine our Constitutional rights.
I was planning on taking a co-worker to the range during lunch on the 28th, I have changed my plans. I do not agree with the politics of this particular group, but I will stand with them for this rally.

If you can not attend this, or another, rally, you can show your support for both the First and Second Amendments by writing a letter to the editor of your local news rag denouncing the goals and objectives of the Brady Bunch.

You could take a non shooting friend shooting, or purchase some extra ammo, or even a firearm, and write JJ or the Brady Bunch and thank them for giving you an excuse to do so.

These anti's are going to receive an undue amount of publicity for these antics, it is our responsibility to counter them.
