Already done. Both for me and my wife.

If you are a Texas resident and you are contacting our senators you are preaching to the choir. If your representative is a republican same thing. Now if you are stuck in a democratic controlled precinct that's a different story. I got the call from NRA too. You will all get a form letter back eventually from your elected reps.
What is more upsetting is that the senate didn't just let the democrats filibuster this forever, shut the government down if need be rather than submitting in to having a vote on gun bills. If the situation was reversed Harry Reid wouldn't have given in. Maybe we need to send some testosterone Rx to our republican friends.

I had actually already contacted both Texas Senators, although I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir with them.

I added a comment though, that IF any restrictions on firearm ownership were added, it should be done in conjunction with a national right-to-carry act. Historically, I wasn't in favor of the Feds overriding the states by forcing recognition of state licenses to carry. However, in light of recent SCOTUS rulings doing the same, I'm inclined to think differently. If we have a right to self-defense, it shouldn't end at the state line. If the intent is to restrict gun ownership by "People who shouldn't have them", it should also be recognized that the rights of "Those who should have firearms" must be protected.

Just my 2¢
