I have 4 pistols that I can carry concealed easily. 3 of them are Kel-Tecs. The usual choice is the P3AT. The most I have fired it in one session is 50, with no issues. I did not find it uncomfortable at all, other than the slide being real hot.
Before making up your mind, be sure you have tested the P3AT with the magazine pinky lip. It makes all the difference in the world in handling and control. It also greatly lessens the chance of a limp-wrist failure. I won't carry mine without it, even though it makes it a little less handy.
A middle-ground alternative is the factory magazine 1-round extension. It has no lip, but it does extend the mag enough to give that pinky a parking place.
Also, the issue for my wife is being able to work the slide due to a relatively weak grip. She has trouble with it on most semi-autos. For that reason, a DA revolver is the right choice for her.
If you get a P3AT, pay a little extra for the hard-chrome slide. It looks better and wears better. I am upgrading all my Keltecs to that as I am able.
Any advise on a Kel- Tec P 3AT 380

I have a P-3AT, it is in my front pocket at all times.
That said, it is snappy, with factory 95 gr loads, it functions fine, but snappy.
With 102gr RN cast and 105gr TC SWC handloads, it has functioned fine and is not quite as snappy.
I need to chrono the 3 loads and see what they are doing.
It is easy to conceal, it is light, the trigger pull is not very good, long and fairly heavy, the sights are a joke, at least for me.
I could not hit a 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper at 7 yds, moving to 4 yds, I put 2 of 5 on the paper, using aimed fire with both hands.
I then just went to instinctive shooting, both eyes open, no sights , just point and shoot.
I put 4 of 5 in the paper.
I have to place it in the , contact gun only, category, at least in my hands.
Too bad, I had hoped it would do me well.
I am now looking for a lightweight .38 snubbie, yes, I have quite a bit of experience in loading .38 sp/ .357

NRA, TSRA, CCRKBA, SAF, JPFO, Def-Con, GOA and CBA.
hmmm
Mine seems to be more accurate than that. At 25 feet I had no problem keeping most shots in the black, from a Weaver stance, 2-hand grip.

I wish I had read this thread a couple of days ago. Last night I took my P3AT and my PF 9 Kel Tec's to the gun range and fired about a 100 round through both of them. Had I read what others have said here, I would not have shot so many rounds at one time.
I woke up this morning with a swollen hand and a bruise on the back of my thumb. It had never dawned on me that the lighter the gun, that you take more of the impact in your hand.
I am happy with both of my guns as far as being easy to conceal when needed.

The same law of physics, once grok'd, will make you laugh out loud at movies where the recipient of a shotgun blast is thrown backwards five yards, while the shooter is not.
I love the 3AT
I carry a 3AT every day (in my K&D pockt holster now). I may carry another gun, but I aways carry my 3AT (I call her Kelly).
Get a good pocket holster and it is very handy.
It is not a range gun, and has a stout recoil. It is not as stout as my PM40.
I have put ~900 to a 1000 rounds throug it. I like to test relability. Shoot ~20 rounds every coulpe of weeks to insure good function.
