File Type

Just a quick question. What file type do I send to DPS when I email my barcode and chl-100? Is PNG okay? My scanner doesn't make pdf.

I think it has to be PDF.

Download and install CutePDF Writer (it's free). It will install a pseudo printer on a Windows machine. Then you can print anything to a PDF file.

When I scan on my Canon it allows me to save as a PDF file. I would think most printer/scanners do.
I only sent my chl-100 and DD214. They know who you are by your DL#.

If you have a reasonably current version of Microsoft Word, it will save to .pdf as one of the "Save As" file types.
Open up a blank document, import your .png into it (resize as necessary after import), and save as a .pdf file

If you have a PC and you don't want to buy MS Office you can download open office at http://www.openoffice.org/download/ It is available for Linux and MS Windows.
Optional you can search the web and download a so called print to PDF driver, there are many versions available for free.

I sent my paperworks as PDF file and had no issues.
