If you all hadn't mentioned Hobby Center is psoted I would have never seen the sign. It is on the door that is open and hidden from view.

It's listed as posted at texas3006.com. The posting is likely invalid since the land is owned by the city of Houston.

Update: I was there this morning, and there is valid looking 30.06 signage on all the doors I approached. The Hobby Center itself is a 501c3 organization, but if the city owns the land, then the restriction should be invalid.

Not sure how it could be written, we as carriers should work on a piece of legislation that would hold a PERSON, not the "entity" personally accountable, criminally, for illegal postings. The way the system currently is set up allows for the "entity" to post regardless of legality, until the AG's office can make an official statement. There is too much leaniency regarding posting a premesis. If it were me, I would make illegal postings a chargeable criminal offense, placing liability on the highest ranking executive of the entity. The fines imposed would be of the same amount as it is now, however the "per day" fine would begin accumulating from the day the AG receives a complaint, IF found to be an illegal posting. I think this would put enough pressure on the management of these entities to enforce rulings at the lower level. Just a thought.

I've talked to them on the phone before. They believe since they are a private 501c3 they are permitted to post, even though the land they sit on is owned by the City.

Walked there this afternoon to pick up some tickets and verified the doors are still posted 30.06 and .07. Had enough of these shenanigans as it's going to force me to disarm and walk several blocks downtown in the dark with my wife when we go to the show we have tickets for.

Submitted official AG complaint today.

Do they have metal detectors? If not I would not disarm for an illegal posting, especially in that area.

I wonder if the decision makers here could be held criminally liable if an LTC holder was forced to disarm and was then killed. After all, their criminal act led to a death. Sounds like potential manslaughter charges would make sense, no? Caveat - IANAL, and I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.

Isn't the unlawful posting of sign by the city a civil vs. criminal issue? At the least I guess you could argue it was a civil "tort" and use that to sue for damages.
