Police: Men Carjack Couple, Ransack Plantation Home

PLANTATION, Fla. - Police are looking for a group of men that carjacked a couple and then terrorized their family in Plantation on Sunday.

Police said a couple was at a Krispy Kreme Donuts store on Northwest 122nd Street in Miami when three armed men carjacked them.

The men forced the couple to go to an ATM and withdraw money.

The men then forced the couple to drive to their home in Plantation, where the men tied up other members of the family and ransacked the home.

"The house was ransacked for about two to three hours," said Detective Philip Toman of the Plantation Police Department. "There were firearms and jewelry taken and two vehicles."

Police said one of the victims was pistol-whipped.

"They caught them all by surprise when they came to the house in Plantation because everybody's tied up and apparently these suspects were armed," Toman said. "There were little children involved, so the victims did the right thing by cooperating because it could have turned deadly."

The men were last seen driving a red Lincoln Navigator with license plate U65-35Y and a blue Jeep Cherokee with license plate VO7-9BD.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.

Just goes to show you, it can happen anywhere, at any time.

There will never be a lack of stories to prove that we all have to be ready to defend ourselves and our families at any time.

Hard to imagine getting Carjacked from a Donut Shop.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

Don't you remember the security camera footage of a convenience store robbery, while a uniformed cop was standing at the counter?

Of course it could have turned deadly whether they cooperated or not…I’m glad in this case they didn’t get killed, but once your hands are tied, you’ve pretty much lost control over what comes next…In general, I don’t think I would submit to being tied up…

And getting car-jacked in a donut shop parking lot…where were all the LEO’s !!!!

I figure I’m soooo dead after that comment  :leaving
