I don't think so. They run a business and it's not a shrine to the deceased. If the crime scene is cleared by police and the area cleaned up, then the best thing they can do is go back about their business and get their lives started back to normal. The more you allow employees or customers to dwell on the fact that a robbery and shooting occurred at a location the more detrimental it is to their psyche and the more harmful it is to them and the business.
I disagree. I think to open back up within a few ours of a horrific murder in the restaurant is insensitive to the family of the victim and employees, who may need counseling to deal with the trauma. It is also not very appetizing and would not dare choose to eat at a location where someone lay shot just hours previous. It's not like it was a customer with a heart attack, this was a traumatic event. They should have let their employees go home to their families. (They may have done so and brought in a new crew, I don't know.). Still, I believe it's disgusting that profit, is more important than showing proper respect and care to the family. Anyway, that's how it appears to me.
Having been around murder scenes and robberies with shootings/death, I will tell you it is very common for the locale to open back up as soon as possible. The individual employees involved usually are not the ones that are back on the job immediately, it is other employees, but some do if they are up to it. However, if the business doesn't get back to normal quickly it can be very bad for them overall as the full staff and even customers start thinking more and more about the incident and it erodes the service level and the customers perception because they dwell on the fact 'a murder occurred here' and don't want to go back to the place. As cold as it may seem to you, it is the old adage of getting back on the horse as quickly as possible after you have been thrown off. Same with an officer who has been cleared of a shooting. It is best to get them back in the saddle again quickly and back to the normal routine. Been there, done that (I was not the shooter, but was one of the officers involved in the events.)
I can see your rationale. I understand it is a business to make money, but at the end of the day, the customers are not just wallets, they're humans and in this case a hero also. I'm just saying one day, one day to show respect.

Disturbing. I've eaten at that Denny's several times and the hotel next door is where my wife and I stayed when we were looking at moving to Houston.

Fourth and final suspect arrested.

Actually detained by police the night of the murder, but was released as they did not connect him to the crime. Interesting how you can get in so much trouble in one night.

So glad to hear they caught all of them!

Now, I wonder how they will come up with a defense?

Describes how Houston police tracked down the killers. Started with an informant, but eventually led to the unusual hats they wore. (borrowed hats from stepfather's hat collection)

it's way past time to start making examples through excessive and cruel punishment to cut down on the number of these animals who are committing these crimes.....

As I previously said, it's time to bring back the electric chair. :evil2:
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.

One man sentenced to 50 years.
I see by the photo his attorney is Allen Tanner. Tanner achieved infamy with his "gangster rap" defense for a cop killer who murdered a trooper. I'll leave it to the reader to look him up. I met him when he was appointed as a defense attorney for an acquaintance
