WTS S&W MODEL 681 - DFW - SOLD

Post by ScubaSigGuy »

I bought this revolver from a friend about 6 months ago. I haven't shot it myself, but not for any reason other than I just didn't make time. I was present when the previous owner fired it once and it worked perfectly. A function check shows it be fine. I acquired several SA's after this revolver and then got into IDPA after that so I never got to shoot it, just clean it.

Comes with soft case. It appears to have it's original grips which I had planned to replace but never got around to. It's not cosmetically perfect, but not bad either.

I am not looking for a trade, but am not completely opposed to one either.

Great HOME DEFENSE pistol!

Almost forgot. CHL only and prefer local.

Likewise. When we meet up at the range, I'll let you shoot it if you like.

Carl....I'm just happy I managed to get one before you for once. However, I might could be persuaded to trade it to you for that little 'ol 340PD of yours.

That 340PD is like one my children. It can't ever be for sale. It is the greatest pocket pistol I have ever owned.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to break down and buy a new one of these days. I think that's up to number two on my "Guns to buy next" list.

You are always welcome to come over and go shoot mine. I can only handle about 15-20 rounds of .357, but 38+P are no problem.

I'd love to sometime. 15-20 rounds of .357 is actually quite impressive. I know of several prolific shooters who've shot a single .357 round before quitting and flat out refusing to shoot anything but .38 +P after that.

It really is not that bad. With the Crimson Laser Grips it is a bite, but no bad. Give me a call and we can take it out for a spin.

Ah yeah, I imagine the grips do make a big difference. That's good to know. And I will.

340PD

Don't know how much difference the Crimson Trace makes, but with the standard grips, I could do one cylinder of .357s.

Did two cylinders once, then sold the dang thing.

My hand still hurts, two years later :)
