Thanks for the replies, folks.
No, I have never shot one. However, my daughter-in-law owns an LC9 (which she does not like, BTW) that I have shot on several occasions. I'm guessing the LCP would be sort of similar, only in a smaller package (long, heavy trigger pull; very short sight radius [if you can even call it that], maybe a little stiff to rack the slide, no place for my pinkie to go, etc.). I'm aware of those things, but they wouldn't necessarily be a show stopper for me, not for a BUG, that is. And personally, I like Rugers. I like her LC9. It is a little snappy, but you gotta expect that from a package that is that small and lightweight.
BUT, shortly after my post last night, even before I went to bed, I was sort of reconsidering buying the LCP already.
I'm getting on up there in age, and starting to try to turn loose of a little of the money that I've worked so hard to save over all my working life. That's a big change in attitude, so it's coming slowly.
My EDC is a compact 1911, so I'm thinking now that I may like to get something that operates a little more like that for a BUG, just for consistency of operation in a real life situation (external safety, single action, etc.).
Already started looking on-line at Colt Mustang and Sig P238.
We'll see how it plays out.
