WTS Couple of Maxpedition Bags

Post by Jose_in_Dallas »

Black Maxpedition Lakespur Messenger Bag. Bought this about 4 years ago when I went on a 4 day trip and loaded a 11" MacBook Air, tablet, camera, phone, all the cables for them, and clothes and it carried it well. Also used it a handful of times to take my laptop to work. Maxpedition no longer sells this but it was the bigger of the two they sold at the time. This is a pretty big bag, bigger than what I really need and it's pretty much sat on a shelf in my closet for 3 years.

This bag is practically brand new. Asking $90 for it. I can meet locally or ship for free.

Either of these bags can be used for range bags and are tough enough to carry alot of ammo and other equipment. Buy both and I'll throw in a Maxpedition Fatboy S-Type Versipack in OD Green that I bought used a few years back. It has a small tear on the carry strap but it has never gotten worse even though I've loaded it down with gear when I've gone day hiking. I bought the Jumbo version of this bag and this has been sitting in the closet as well. Don't have a picture handy but I'll try to add one in the next couple of days.

I own two Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger bags, one for everyday use and the other for a Bug Out configuration. I've put my Gearslinger through hard use EVERY DAY, and it looks as good as it does when I bought it years ago. These things are tough as nails and worth every penny. I don't need another Maxpedition bag, but if you're looking for a good value -- these bags are it!

Thought I'd add this here. Selling a Maxpedition Fatboy S-Type Versipack in OD Green. Bought this used a while back and it has served me so well that I went out and bought a bigger one to use. I've used it on trips to the range or for day hiking. I've carried 3-4 50 round boxes of ammo along with my handgun. Or water, snacks, and a handgun while hiking. It has a main pocket with a rain cover with a draw string over it, a flashlight or knife pocket, and a wider pocket to keep a cell phone or walkie talkie. And the hidden back pocket that can store a handgun securely if you pick up Maxpedition's CCW Holster. I used one of these along with a two magazine carrier but I know use it on my new Jumbo Veripack.

This has been used but is still in very serviceable condition. I tried to take as many pictures showing the wear on it. There is a small rip on the main carry strap that was there when I bought it used. It has never gotten worse than what it is now. The key holder buckle looks a little rough but this is the way I picked it up and I've never used it (don't like stuff swaying around). The wear I've added is where the back padding has rubbed against my body and on the front velcro patch cover where it has picked up what looks like tree sap. Honestly I never bothered to clean it off and it's been there for years. I may try to clean it off tomorrow and hope I don't screw something up LOL!

Maxpedition has these on sale for $60 now on closeout, originally they are $92. I'm asking$30 for it.

Bringing this to the top. I'll throw in the Versipack free to anyone who buys the Messenger bag.

Every time this pops up I want to buy the messenger bag, just because it's a great deal.
I'm trying to be better about not buying toys I don't have a use for, but I'm still tempted.

A few quick things...

1. I believe the correct name is Larkspur, not lakespur.
2. The OP mentions this is the LARGER of two similar bags they were selling at the time.... If this is the Larkspur, then I believe it is the smaller of the two bags, the other being the Gleneagle. MSM does a thorough review HERE
3. Even if it's the smaller of the two, it's still a substantial size bag.... Here's a reference photo from Milspecmonkey.

I'd definitely buy it if I had a use for it.... GLWS! :thumbs2:

I stand corrected, I thought this was the larger of the two and I can only imagine how big the other one is
