Looks like that's just his opinion from when he was the pistol range officer. It's no more or less valid than that of the guy who runs the website! Lighten up.

Springfield XD(m) 9mm 3.8 | Springfield XD-45 Compact | Springfield XD-9 Service
Kimber Pro CDP II .45 ACP | Kimber Pro Aegis II 9mm w/Crimson Trace | Walther PPS 9mm
Bushmaster AR-15 w/Magpul pistol grip and foregrip, Bushnell holosight
I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.

Let me get this right - when someone offers a criticism based on their first-hand observations, you want a statistical analysis and "verifiable" data?shaggydog wrote:May I see your statistical data please.HankB wrote:Even without the $500 limitation, the list is garbage.
For example, the Taurus PT92 is highly rated - when I was serving as pistol range officer at my old gun club, I got to see a number of these clunkers. Now, they're really by design an "improved" Beretta 92, in that they have the safety where it should be, but a very high percentage of those I saw were jammamatics, even with ball ammo. And more than one had a locking block fracture on the firing line.![]()
A PT92 that works is probably a pretty good gun, but when the manufacturer puts out a high percentage of lemons - uh uh, it has no place on a "best" list.![]()
Ummmmm. I think a large grain of salt might be in order.
If you wish to trash a particular weapon/manufacturer please provide verifiable data to back your analysis.
By that standard, I guess you discount virtually everything that anyone posts here about a product - good or bad - without associated paperwork that meets your requirements.
Good luck getting it.

From what I understand both Berretta and Taurus have experienced problems with the locking block cracking. As I understand it the issues have been addressed through improve metallurgy on the newer guns. I also don't have statistical data handy.HankB wrote:Let me get this right - when someone offers a criticism based on their first-hand observations, you want a statistical analysis and "verifiable" data?shaggydog wrote:May I see your statistical data please.HankB wrote:Even without the $500 limitation, the list is garbage.
