I never had a problem, ever. And we kept our plates for way too long. Then bought another car from here and took it up there, so we had yet another car with Tx plates. So for the 3 years we were there we probably had TX plates for 1.5 years. Never a problem, and we were all over that state.

We just got back from camping outside Ouray and driving the Alpine loop in a rented jeep. Went to Silverton and Animas Forks a few months ago. Colorado people were very friendly and we had nothing but fun there. Chased bears away every night at the campsite with dog spray (10mm glock as backup). open carry is legal for all allowed to own a firearm and was not questioned at all. Side note, most of the out of state plates were from Texas, I would guess over 70 percent of them. My wife is from there and she said that Texas hunters are disliked but not regular visitors.
