I seem to remember another poster that had OTH discharge that was upset because he wasn't getting the veteran discount because DPS said he wasn't entitled. Then he appealed it to his rep and they changed their stance. (or something along those lines).
Is this a similar situation?
Can you still get a CHL with an OTH under 21?

No, that other person received a General Discharge - under honorable conditions. OTH is below the general discharge and completely different from general.mojo84 wrote:I seem to remember another poster that had OTH discharge that was upset because he wasn't getting the veteran discount because DPS said he wasn't entitled. I understand that. However, I thought the situations were similar enough the final disposition of that case may work in your favor. I just couldn't remember the details of that other situation.Gunlover4790 wrote:I'm not trying to get a discount, just my CHL lol.mojo84 wrote:I seem to remember another poster that had OTH discharge that was upset because he wasn't getting the veteran discount because DPS said he wasn't entitled. I sure hope so. That was an interesting case though. Was it the man with the "chapter 10" discharge?mojo84 wrote:I understand that. Cool thing about this forum is that until you go shooting with us, no one actually knows who you are. Just let the cat out of the bag and speak to is honestly what is the situation and perhaps we can help more. What happened? Why did you get in other than honorable discharge? We have a lot of vets in here!Gunlover4790 wrote:I sure hope so. That was an interesting case though. Was it the man with the "chapter 10" discharge?mojo84 wrote:I understand that. The OTH was for a not disclosing a medical condition before I joined. When I went through boot camp, I was fine, I graduated successfully, but after boot camp, I went through additional training and that's when my condition started to show up more and hinder my ability to train. They found out and I got an NJP. I realize my mistake now of course. And nice to know there are plenty of vets here!TreyHouston wrote:Cool thing about this forum is that until you go shooting with us, no one actually knows who you are.
