hmm.. that sounds like a very good time. as it happens, I do have a long-arm that I could use. as long as I don't try to put all shots into a paper plate at 100yds, it does ok.

unfortunately I can't say at the moment if I'll be able to go. I'll send an update later in the week.

Hi, John.
At these carbine matches, the targets and scoring are the same as IDPA. The distances range from nearly contact to maybe a couple of targets out to 35-40 yards. Mostly 5-20 yards.

I am going to try to make it, too. Look for me. I will probably be the only one shooting a Ruger Mini-14. Stainless/synthetic stock.

Bring your sidearm. There are often 1 or 2 stages where there is a transition from long gun to handgun or handgun to long gun.

Minimum ammo requirements are around 100 for carbine and 25 or less for sidearm. Always good to bring more.

What do you shoot?

If I make it, I'll probably bring my RR M4 knock-off, or maybe my Knight. They're both pretty good CQB rifles.

For the pistol, I would probably bring my Glock G19.

Sure would be nice to make it, but it will depend on if I get the livestock taken care of in time...it's a pretty good drive from where I live to the range.

Tomorrow the wife and I are going to the ranch (my dad's) for 4-5 days and thank goodness we don't have the internet there so I will be off line until after the match.

There's also an IPSC match this weekend, so I'm not sure which one we will be going to. I'll probably let my wife pick which one she wants to attend.

If I don't make the carbine shoot this weekend, I'll probably make the IDPA match later in the month.
