Thunder Tactical Labor Day Regional

Post by jbirds1210 »

I had the honor of pitching in with the hard working folks at Thunder Tactical in Conroe for their Labor Day Regional IDPA match.

WOW  These folks know how to run a match......very smooth and one that I plan to attend every year.

The amount of planning involved is amazing. All of the stages were challenging and fun! The place was filled and almost everyone was finished shooting before lunch! The folks at Thunder worked their tails off to make this match flawless.

The match was safe, friendly, and I learned a lot from all of the shooters I had the pleasure of visiting with. The food was delicious and the trophies are beautiful.

I spent time with some of my dearest friends in one of my favorite environments......tough to beat that. Thank you all for the memories.

I made a last minute decision to shoot this match and the staff allowed me to sign up and pay my entry fee the morning of. That is usually not done. Everyone was very professional and courteous. A more dedicated group of SO's and Score Keepers would be difficult to find. The stages were fun and creative. They even had a stage which required "verbal engagement" of the first target (steel knock down) before the buzzer. I yelled GET DOWN! GET DOWN! ;-)
It was also great to visit with old friends as well as make some new ones.

Thanks to the match staff for making it run so smoothly. My wife, son and I had a great time.

That's a great idea! I yelled, "stop! stop!" and that is exactly what Mr. Steel target did.....he froze and did not move an inch backward until he was served a second shot

Hope someone got some photos/vids. And I hope a write-up appears in Tactical Journal.

The weather forecast looked pretty lousy for the whole greater Houston area moving into the weekend, but the rain didn't dare mess with this match.

Maybe I can meet Mrs. HighVelocity and HV, Jr. at PSC in September.

Plus one to all written above. A special thanks to all involved on a very
well run match.
This was my first match with the round gun and it is a challenge thinking
in 6's instead of 10's.
Are the scores posted somewhere on the web?
Thanks again.

Thanks to all for your kind words and positive feedback regarding the match.

The scores should be posted to the TTS web site sometime tomorrow and then at a later date to the IDPA web site.

Once again thanks, hope everyone had a good time, we certainly enjoyed having you @ Thunder.

You betcha. And some very nice performances by some Forum members. In fact, I'm gonna go back and look at those CDP results again just to make sure I didn't miss something.

I had a great time at this match too.

Thank You to all of the Fine Folks at the Thunder Tactical Shooters for all of your hard work. The match was well run and a pleasure to shoot. The scenarios were great, the SO's were fantastic, and lunch was delicious. It was nice meeting so many new people.

I look forward to this match next year.
