Yes, there is....

Legally you cannot drive to Shreveport and sell this gun the the Buyer. You can only sell guns FTF in you own State. And.... he cannot legally come to Texas and buy it from you either.

If you want to sell it to the Guy in Shreveport, you will have to ship it to a Louisiana FFL holder who would then do the required paperwork to deliver it to the buyer.

Ahhhh Haaaaa......

Interesting proposal. I would guess that would be OK.
There is nothing stopping you from transporting the gun to LA yourself.
And to transfer it to a LA resident thru a LA FFL seems correct to me.

I will let the Lawyers chime in here to get the "absolutely correct" answer.

I know there has to be an FFL involved if the buyer and seller are each residents of two different states. The ATF has been going to gun shows to try to sting people into selling to out-of-state buyers. They've jacked up a few unsuspecting guys on charges already with 10 year mandatory sentences.
