I screwed up
and went to the Dallas show today. Picked up a S&W1911SC.
Only problem is now my daughter wants it or my PM40.
SHE THINKS THEY ARE CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, the Dallas show sure ain't what it used to be. About half of the tables were empty.
Sure hope the TSRA show fairs better.
Oh well, off to the range tommorrow, hope the child doesn't want to go. Well, if she does, thats okay too.

Went to the show too
Didn't pick up any new guns and didn't move my USP Tac .40 I have for sale, but DID pick up an excellent carry rig for MY SW1911Sc. It was from the nice lady and gentleman from Missouri with Rafter S Gunleather. It is a very nice carry holster/belt/single mag holster and the quality compared nicely to what I saw online from Kirkpatrick Leather and was much more substantial than something from Don Hume.
RPBrown, you are going to love the 1911Sc. I've had one for about 6 months and just started carrying mine the majority of the time. I shot my CHL instructor renewal with it in November with all 50 rounds grouped in about a 5" circle which I was pretty pleased with :)
Light, accurate and "purty" to boot.
Show WAS kinda crowded, got there right at 10:00am and had about a 100 people in line to get in. When I left at 12:00PM, it was REALLY getting crowded. BUT, there were a LOT of empty vendor tables and lots of tables of knives and sunglasses

I was there when the show opened. Really suprised that there weren't as many new gun dealers as normal. Only saw about 4 or 5 booths with new handguns. Lots of empty tables and used guns. The last show in Mesquite had more to see than this show.
I hope the TSRA show will be better. It was the best show of all up here last year in my opinion.
Looking forward to the range today with my new toy. Will report after.

Any updates? How does your daughter like "her" new gun?

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Didn't get to go last weekend. We are going today. She is dressed and ready now and loading my range bag for me.
Going to surprise her, picked her up a Kahr PM9 yesterday. She's going to wonder why we are stopping to get 9mm ammo. She knows that other than my P3AT, I don't have anything smaller that a 40.
Will give report later today on her and my new toys.

RANGE REPORT-- well got to shoot my new toy(SW1911SC) today. Man, do I like it. Smooth, clean and not much recoil. After getting used to it was able to put 2" groupings togeather at 10 yards and 5" groupings at 25 yards. It shoots better than I do. It may replace my G21 as primary carry.
Daughter loved her PM9. And was she surprised. She was grouping 5"-6" at 10 yards. Not bad for only shooting about 3 months. She wouldn' try 25 yards though.
She did shoot one clip with my toy but was so excited about hers, she only wanted to shoot it--Whew!! she even got her 200 round break-in done. No problems.
Then she took my cleaning kit away from me to clean hers. Good thing I have spares.
So all is good today at the Brown house.
Ya'll have a good day.

Actually, when I handed it to her she thought it was my PM40 until I gave her the 9mm ammo.
When I told her it was hers, well lets say it's been a while since I've seen her cry. But happy tears.
I only wish the rest of my kids lived here so we could make a family affair at the range.
Oh well, it was still a great day at the range.
It's a funny thing though. This daughter is the oldest (34) and the last one to become interested in shooting. Only had her CHL about a month now.
