TSRA show question for Charles and members

Post by RPBrown »

Charles,
As stated in an earlier post, I would like to meet everyone at the show.
I have just re-read my latest Sportsman and a table in the show is only $55.00. I would be willing to spring for the table if some others would help man it. Also, maybe if someone has access to print some informational literature to hand out.
This would not only give everyone a meeting place, but also get new members involved.
What do ya'll think?
Charles, any problem with this. And what is the cutoff date for a table?

I have no problem with this at all, but I don't know what the cut-off is for tables. I'll be happy to reimburse the table cost.

The bus idea didn't fly, but I'd still like to meet some folks and put a face with the screen name. I'll be at the Friends dinner, as well as the Saturday evening Awards Banquet. I'll be introducing John Sigler, NRA 1st Viced President, so maybe that will let us identify each other.

Regards,
Chas.

Thanks Charles. But no need for reimbursment. I just need to find out if enough people are interested to help man the table. After we get a few replies, I will check on a table.

If I can get my M-I-L to come up and watch our baby for a few hours on Saturday, I would love to come meet you guys and help man a table if you get one. Let me know if this is still on.

Okay, I have a floor plan for the gun show area of the Mesquite Convention Center. There are very few tables left, but there are two in the back of the building close to the concession area, men's restroom and the TSRA store and NRA booth. Of the remaining tables, this might have the most traffic. (Being close to food and restrooms sure has it appeal!) There is one close to the front on the second row that might also be pretty good, but probably wouldn’t be as good for a gathering area.

I'll reserve a table (or two if we want both of them) if we want to do this, but do we really have enough people to man it? I have to be in meetings a good bit of the time, so I don't know how much I can be there. Marc is coming with me and may be able to help out. As an alternative, we can simply use it as a gathering point that isn't manned the entire time.

Also, what do people want to have on the table? We could have flyers for ranges and instructors like txinvestigator's range, flyers for FFL's doing transfers, Marc’s NRA courses, etc.

What say ye?

I'll be glad to help man a table for part of the time. I'll take advantage of the situation to put out some stuff about NRA Basic and Instructor courses. I'm also an NRA recruiter and can help out that way if that's acceptable. We can make up a 'schedule' if we can get the overall hours that the hall will be open.

Charles
I can reserve a table and can even man it for a few hours on Saturday if needed. I haven't done anything with it because I didn't get much feed back.
As far as what to do or put on the tables, I can put togeather some fliers about the forum and send them to you for your approval. I also like the idea about forum members using it for thier fliers.
Let me know

Is this the Feb 3rd mtg and show? If so, I'd like to come up if I'm free. I have a good friend in mesquite that I could stay with and visit him and come show up at the show.

Will the show be posted?

Let me know how I can help and I will try and get there!

Me too. In fact, if we don't have enough interested people respond, then I think we shouldn't do it. The last thing we want is to have a table or two with a banner and no one around to talk to or answer questions.

Chas.

As of now we have 2 and possibly 3 counting myself to man a table. I will let this post run until Friday. If we can get at least 5 more people to commit to manning a table, I will get a table. Otherwise we will have to make other options available for a meeting place.

COME ON PEOPLE. LET US HERE FROM YOU.

I would be most interested in meeting other TexasCHLforum members and helping with manning the booth. I'm at least 95% sure I'll make the show.

I hope there are other DFW area members who would be willing to help. Come on and step up guys!!

PM me if I can help.

be prepared,

Greetings--

We expect to come to DFW that weekend and drop by the show. Exact plans still up in the air, but we can certianly man the table for a while to give folks a break.

Comments on an non-staffed table--- I see a lot of these at various conferences. If a sufficient supply of flyers, brochures ect and a good banner are available, IMO a few times here and there unmanned aren't a big issue.

If its decided to have a table-- some sort of online sign up/schedule sheet would be helpful

There's two different threads going on this, some of us have posted over on the other thread that we will be there and willing to help out.

Be sure to check the other thread when putting a schedule together. I have a four hour drive down and I can't leave here until Saturday morning so I should be there right after lunch. Would like to see what vendors are at the show, but more than willing tp help out any way that I can on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning !
