It wasn't until after I watched the Dallas SWAT show that I found out there was another one. "Texas SWAT" on Court TV.
Haven't seen Texas SWAT yet, but it's on Wednesdays 8-9PM.

I watched a little of the show the other day. They raided a drug house and found some firearms. One of the officers picked up a what he claimed to be an "automatic" pistol. A video clip was then shown of what looked like that full auto Glock I have seen on-line. It had a 30 round clip on it while they were shooting it, but the handgun at the house didn't.

I haven't seen that program so I can't speak directly to it. I have seen a number of others of the same ilk and it appears to me that a large part of the problem with the depiction of handguns in general on TV falls into two categories which may in fact overlap. The first category is producers and directors who have no first hand knowledge of firearms. Thus, they are perforce to rely on others for technical support. Those others may be more knowledgeable or not, they may have an agenda of their own or not.....way too many variables to compute. The second category is the group that knows (or thinks they know) about firearms and are dead set against them period. They will do or arrange any sort of stunt, script or event that then becomes a stage for presentation of their political viewpoint under the guise of reality. It is sometimes not easy to tell the difference between the two, and for the great majority having to think about it makes their brain hurt, so they just swallow hook line and sinker.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

I'm not sure where they get their talking points from... was it VPC or the Brady Center??? I'm leaning towards the Brady Center...
[sarcastic voice on] I learned all kinds of new things on Texas SWAT. Like the SKS and AK-47 are "state-of-the-art"

It's astonishing that a WWII and a gun created in 1947 could be called "state-of-the-art"... and that a semi-automatic gun like the SKS could be represented as a machinegun and called an "assault rifle"... and that an semi-auto AK with a practical rate of fire of 40 rounds per minute (according to the OPFOR Worldwide Equipment Guide) could be said to be capable of firing 600 rounds in one minute!!! Even a drum mag wouldn't get a full auto AK up to 600 rounds in a minute.
The show made no distinction between semi-automatic and full automatic. By the context of the show it looked like the weapons confiscated were all semi-automatic (nobody was charged with possessing and illegal machinegun). You have to love that one bit of propaganda where a MAC 10/45 (apparently semi-auto) is confiscated and the screen cuts to a video of a Glock 18 firing full automatic!
