So is he paying $10,000 or $100,000 to get off. He forfeits his bond. For the prosecution it looks bad, but a smart move for them. They don't have to fund a big time OJ type trial that even with a conviction, he probably would have gotten probation.

I assume the US Justice department won't be as easy. They like the high profile, low crime trials, like Martha Stewart. If you remember she was convicted for, beyond a reasonable doubt that she lied about what she remembered.
