I'm sure there is more to the story here, and I sure hope that there is ALOT more. Because on the face of it, this isn't going to do much for DPD's public relations after one of their officers killed an innocent citizen in his own home, etc.

The reported facts are that an intoxicated man got into an altercation with a woman. He pulls a gun. She calls 911. He gets in her face. She shoves him. He holsters the gun and proceeds to punch her 5 times in the face. After the altercation she somehow broke the back window of his truck. He is charged with several misdemeanors. She is charged with a felony (police are taking the man's estimate of a window replacement at $2,500). It is not clear whether the man has an LTC. He was charged with misdemeanor UCW, but he was also drunk, apparently.
Just to point out one aspect here, unless he is driving some type of collectors truck, that damage estimate is absurd on it's face. A replacement windshield on my new BMC that has heads-up display and rain sensing wipers costs less than $700 using the exact same glass, and less than $500 using OEM glass. That's relevant because the damage amount makes her charge a felony and not a misdemeanor.

Yep. Just saw it. I took a quick loo, but the title didn't click in my head.Bitter Clinger wrote: Wed Apr 03, 2019 1:01 pm Already running here:
