I have a question for those who might know.....

Is that orange color to the smoke of the explosion characteristic of an ammonium nitrate explosion?

You might find this an interesting read:
https://www.osmre.gov/resources/blastin ... odule1.pdf

By skimming through it quickly it appears the red orange color is a product of unburned nitrogen oxides (NOx). There’s a picture in that document that shows a red orange brown cloud. It is poisonous.

Interestingly it says if you have the oxidizer and fuel balanced properly, the detonation will produce only harmless gases.

I saw a number of 70m radius or well over 400ft diameter. It's a massive crater.
