CHL Protection Plan?

I hope i'm not bringing up something that's been beat to death. If so, I apologize.

I see these little pamphlets for a "CHL Protection Plan" http://chlpp.com

I am wondering if this is just a rehash of those "prepaid legal" garbage scams, or something worthwhile. Anyone know anything substantial about them?

I have never seen anything like this. If you ever need a lawyer, I bet there are some people on this site who are more than qualified to make a great recommendation. I am definitely not one of them. Thanks for the post....it was a first for me. I am not a gambling man......but chances are I will never shoot anyone. I think I will save my money and buy some ammo.

It's my understanding that this plan only covers your lawyer up until the Grand Jury reviews the case. If you get no billed then you walk away and the peasants rejoice but if you get charged then you have to pay for your own lawyer.

I've never seen anything to give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about this "plan"...And these guys have been advertising for a few years now...

And I have not seen or heard of any data to confirm their success rate in the defense of people who pay for their services...

If something as serious as a "gun" related issue happens to you...I believe I'd have my research done beforehand, and go with a person, rather than a plan...

But thats just my opinion...

Went and took a look...

Looks like they did update their website...They have one (1) story about their assistance in defending a "licenced" person in Dallas this month...

So I retract my statement about not seeing any stories about how effective they are...

But I think any competant representation could have been so in this case...

My rub is that I don't like to think there's a chance I will have to seek additional (and possibly separate) counsel (and spend additional $$$$$, I may, or may not have) "after" a grand jury indicts you anyway...

Obviously, I bet you'd have to pay extra, to them, to continue to represent you at trial...

If I had the time, and if they'd answer a few questions I have...I may soften my apprehension about their services...
