Washington, just get an out of state CHL

Post by pawn »

It's easy, 50$ and 30 minutes of your time.

But, they don't recognize a Tx license, which is odd, since ours is so much harder to get. I suspect it's because they only issue to 21 and over whereas Texas issues to anyone over 18.

Unless something has changed this isn’t correct. Only way for an 18 y/o to get an LTC in Texas is if they’ve been honorably discharged from the military.
Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Quite correct, Texas now requires 21. Then I'm truly at a loss as to why Washington doesn't honor a Texas license.

Texas allows >18 if applicant is member of the military, veteran or honorably discharged.
I think that's the reason WA doesn't allow reciprocity, but, maybe not.... WA specifically says that they honor the SD Enhanced license, but, only for those 21+. If age was the only reason for declining TX reciprocity, they could simply have the same age restriction they have with SD...
