Is that what heppens to the human body when a high speed bullet goes through soft tissue?

It would seem it does, no wonder people and animals drop on the spot sometimes.

That was from Barnes. You can get a free copy of their DVD, "Bullet Myths Busted," from their Website at http://www.barnesbullets.com/. Some very cool stuff on there.

That's from the Barnes website: http://www.barnesbullets.com/informatio ... eed-video/

180gr .308 @297fps, according to the site. Not exactly the sort of performance you can expect from a concealable weapon.

Check out the Varmint Grenades vs fruit videos on their site; I'm really starting to want to try some of those bullets.

I bet that is more than 297 fps.

I've seen what they can do when they go through a hand... ;-)

But the human body isn't a gel..its got muscle, bones, other organs, and have very fibrous and tough clothing covering it...those really cool ballistic gel shots are cool..but do they represent an actual shot on a human target?

Its cool to see..but don't think its 100% perfect (what is in a shooting situation right?)

Ballistics Gel is the closest material available that "simulates" the reaction to human tissue. You can do some research on the Discovery Website for their show "Mythbusters" where they have actually molded bone around ballistics gel...the results of some of then were quite amazing.

Do they bust the myths of their own website, where it said the various bullet "exploded on impact" with seedless grapes and cherry tomatoes?

The fruit sure exploded, but the bullets didn't.
