WE LOST ONE OF OUR OWN

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

We lost one of our TexasCHLforum members last night. Gary Murphy, known as Ratman on the forum, passed away Friday evening of pancreatic cancer. Gary was 53 and had been diagnosed in September of last year.

I enjoyed Gary's posts on the forum, but I learned so much more about him in a series of PM's about our families, what each of us hold dear, and how we approach our responsibilities as men and as fathers. I wish I had known him much much longer.

Go with God, Gary; you'll be missed. And may the Lord be with Barbara, the kids and the grandchildren. Martha and I will keep all of you in our prayers.

Respectfully,
Chas.

P.S. Gary's wife Barbara gave me permission to post this information.

Sad day.

I am sorry to hear of this. My deepest sympathy to the family.

May God provide them strength in the days ahead. I pray he will comfort them in their time of need, and remind all....that they are not alone in their grief and sorrow.

Thank you for this post.

We can show honor to this man and his family... through remembrance.

Very sad to hear. He was Member #2, right behind Chas.

We will also pray for the family. Everyone remember that it is the weeks, months, and year ahead when everyone has forgot that the family needs support. The Lord will provide peace that passes all understanding.

I'm pretty floored by the news as well...

Our thoughts are with his family...And hope they find some comfort and peace through this troubled time in their lives...

I too enjoyed his posts. He welcomed me to this forum like I was a member for years. He will truely be missed.

Our prayers are with his family through these difficult times. Godspeed Ratman.

Charles, if there is anything I or we can do for the family, let me know.

I'm going to bring a sympathy card to the TSRA table and let's try to get a good number of folks to sign it. We can then send it to Barb and the kids. When I received an email from her giving her approval for me to post a notice about Gary, she told me how much he enjoyed this forum and all you guys and gals. I think she'll appreciate the card.

I'll send an email to Barb as well and let her know that she can call on us, if there is anything we can do.

Thanks guys,
Chas.
