Shooter exchanged fire with officers. I guess surrendered.

The mall security guard was the hero "officer" murdered in an exchange of gunfire with the shooter. The shooter is in critical condition.
The security guard murdered was former military and appears to be transgender.
The name of the shooter was not released yet. Which may or may not tell us anything.

Shooter was an Anglo lune from Chicago.
May have taken his own life. He has now died from his injuries.
