I have a G31 that I'd like to convert to a G17 (much cheaper to feed 9mm than .357 Sig). So I am looking for a complete slide, barrel and recoil spring assembly to put on my frame. Along with some mags of course, preferably hi-caps. PM or post your responses here!
Thanks!

Wow!
Didn't know a 17 uppper would work on a 31 frame. I agree with ya! I hate spending $15-20 per brick to go plink at a range. If anyone has any good suggestions lemme know on this one too! If it'll work, I'd love to get a G17 or G23 upper as well....not to piggy back on ya here bullseye10x, but seems like a good idea and sure beats a .22 conversion kit.

From what I understand, all the Glock pistols chambered in 9/40/357 use the same frames in their respective sizes (full, compact, sub-compact, etc...). I think the ejectors may differ slightly, but otherwise the lowers are identical. Since I can't really afford or justify another handgun right now, this is a good alternative. As a bonus, it's easier to convince the wife too ("but honey, this will save us $$$")

All you need is a 40-9mm conversion barrel and G17 mags. You do not need a new slide.

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

I converted my G32 to 9mm with just a barrel and G19 mags. Worked great. .357sig was too expensive for me as well.bullseye10x wrote:I have a G31 that I'd like to convert to a G17 (much cheaper to feed 9mm than .357 Sig). It's not exactly cheap, but Lone Wolf Distributors has slides for full or compact Glock frames here. As I understand it you'd also need to provide the slide internals and barrel and sights. Since Glock doesn't sell slide assemblies separate from the frame, it's hard to find them on the market. Good luck.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
