Unarmed hero disarms one of the terrorist. My understanding is he was wounded though. If only Australians had the right to keep and bear arms, he could have safely engaged and stopped the threat from his position.

And just to show the craziness of the world today (and how bad stereotypes are), the hero who disarmed the one shooter was Muslim and was shot twice by the second shooter. The shooters were a father and son team of white average Australians with weapons permits.
