The Sheriff's dept here, gives them away for the asking. As do several of the pawns.

That's odd. I just picked up a NIB RIA Tactical, and it did not come with any lock of any sort. The case had holes for padlocks, but no locking mechanism was present.

I haven't bought a long gun in a while but the last four handguns I bought here in Texas as part of the paperwork I had to sign a form saying that the dealer had offered me a lock if one didn't come with the gun. Academy told me that even if the gun came with a lock they would give me one.

Re: Trigger Locks Mandatory?
The dealer I got my pistol from gave me a pamphlet about keeping guns out of the hands of children, but nothing was ever said about any lock. I don't buy may guns NIB, so I didn't think anything of it until I read this thread.

Yep, that's mandatory too (from the feds). Any time an ATF licensee sells a handgun, they must include the "Youth Handgun Safety Act" notice.barres wrote:The dealer I got my pistol from gave me a pamphlet about keeping guns out of the hands of children,
